Macron called the law on reducing inflation in the United States unfriendly
French President Emmanuel Macron, during a speech to industry representatives, criticized the law on reducing inflation in the United States (IRA).
«It is impossible to talk about the decarbonization of industry without mentioning the law on reducing inflation in the United States, as well as the fact that we in Europe will still have to face its consequences,» he said.
The French leader noted that the United States produces gas, which is sold more expensive than European countries, and also offers huge financial assistance to a number of sectors, which «completely pushes the European project out of the market.» According to Makron, the American law on reducing inflation does not comply with the norms of the World Trade Organization. In addition, Washington is acting «not in a friendly way» in this situation, he stressed.
